Map user attributes
Choose which Microsoft profile fields fill in SimplyDo accounts.
Each time someone signs in with Microsoft, SimplyDo copies their details from their Microsoft Entra ID profile into their SimplyDo account. The defaults suit most tenants, so you only need to change them if your tenant keeps details in other fields.
| SimplyDo attribute | Microsoft Entra ID field (default) |
|---|---|
mail, then userPrincipalName |
|
| First name | givenName |
| Last name | surname |
| Department | department |
| Job title | jobTitle |
You can use the department and job title in rules, as profile.department and profile.jobTitle, for example to add people to groups automatically.
On the Sign-in with Microsoft settings page, scroll to Attribute mappings. If your users have several email addresses, enter the field that holds them next to Email, here
otherMails.Under Email pattern, enter a regular expression that the right address matches, for example
.*@example\.com. SimplyDo picks the first address that matches. To copy any other field, click Add custom mapping. Enter a name for the attribute on the left and the Microsoft Entra ID field on the right, here employeeId.
Click Save changes. A message confirms the settings are updated.
Custom mappings are stored with each user under attributes, so you can use them in rules too. SimplyDo can only read fields it has permission to read in your tenant. The new mappings apply the next time each person signs in.
