Connect Microsoft 365Step 1 of 5
Connect to Excel
Sync a challenge's ideas or a poll's responses to an Excel workbook.
SimplyDo can keep an Excel workbook in your OneDrive up to date with a challenge’s ideas or a poll’s responses. Once it’s connected, there’s nothing more to do: SimplyDo adds new data as it comes in, so your colleagues can work with it in Excel.
SimplyDo only works with the workbook it creates. It doesn’t read any of your other Microsoft 365 data, and it never deletes anything. Changes you make in its worksheet may be overwritten, so copy the data to another sheet before editing it.
You need to be able to manage the challenge or poll, and to have a Microsoft 365 account with OneDrive.
Every idea submitted to the challenge is added to the workbook, and kept up to date as it changes, for example when it moves to another lane or is assessed.
In your challenge’s Settings, open Connections from the side menu.
Under Excel in Office 365, click Connect to Excel.
Every response to the poll is added to the workbook as it comes in.
In the admin area, open Polls from the side menu.
Click Manage poll next to your poll.
Open the Settings tab.
Under Connect to excel, click Connect to Excel.
After you click Connect to Excel, Microsoft asks you to sign in and to let SimplyDo access your OneDrive. Click Accept. You’re brought back to SimplyDo, where your account is listed under the connection.
SimplyDo creates the workbook in a Simply Do Ideas folder in your OneDrive. Click Open next to your account to open it. To stop syncing, click the unlink button next to your account.
The sign-in and consent happen on Microsoft’s website, so they’re not shown here.
