Choose a lane type
Mark lanes for ideas that are completed, resolved or not progressing.
A lane’s type says what being on that lane means for an idea. Every lane except the Default lane can have one:
- Normal lane: a stage in your process. New lanes start as normal lanes.
- Ideas not progressing: ideas you’ve decided not to take forward, for example unsuccessful ones.
- Ideas completed: ideas that have been delivered.
- Ideas resolved: ideas that were dealt with another way, for example because the work was already done or underway.
Assignees of ideas on completed, resolved and not progressing lanes stop getting reminders about review dates and ideas that haven’t been updated. Lane types also feed into reports, such as how many ideas were completed.
For a selection process, for example, make a lane for unsuccessful ideas an Ideas not progressing lane, and the lane for the ones you award an Ideas completed lane.
In your challenge, open Project Board from the side menu.
Click … at the top of the lane, here Rolled out.
Point to Change lane type.
Choose the type, here Ideas completed. The lane shows its type under its name.
