Send announcementsStep 3 of 6
Create an automatic announcement
Send a message to each person when they do something, such as submit an idea.
An automatic announcement goes to one person at a time, whenever they do what it’s set up for: create an idea, submit one, finish their assessments, or have their idea moved to a project board lane. Set them up before you open the challenge, so nobody misses out.
Thank people as soon as they submit an idea and tell them what happens next. Every challenge should have one.
In your challenge’s settings, open Announcements from the side menu.
Click New announcement. The announcement window opens with Standard selected.
Select Automatic as the announcement type.
Open Send announcement when… and choose User submits an idea.
Type a Message subject and write your message. {firstName} is replaced with the name of the person who submitted.
Click Create announcement. It’s listed with User submits an idea as when it’s sent.
An automatic announcement can also open full screen in SimplyDo for the person who triggered it, so they’re more likely to read it there and then. Turn it on when you create the announcement, or later as shown here.
In your challenge’s settings, open Announcements from the side menu.
Open the actions menu at the end of the announcement’s row and click Edit.
Open Settings and turn on Enable full screen announcement.
Click Save changes.
